To further understand the experiences of Cypriot disabled football fans, CAFE is pleased to announce the launch of a national survey as part of wider research project.

(This story is also available in Cypriot)

CAFE believes that live sport provides life changing experiences, and everyone should have equal access to them. Our vision is a world where disabled people are a key part of the global sporting landscape, as fans, employees, volunteers and leaders, ensuring everyone has equal opportunities to contribute in an accessible, inclusive and welcoming environment.

Working in collaboration with OPAK and The Football Project, we are inviting disabled people from across Cyprus to participate in this research project.

Take part in the Cypriot Disabled Fans Survey (in Cypriot only)

We are very keen to hear from match-going disabled fans to gain a better understanding of your matchday experience at stadiums throughout the country.

We also encourage disabled people who wish to become match-going supporters to share their stories and experiences, around the existing barriers which prevent you from being able to attend live matches.

OPAK is an NGO working across in the promotion and development of sport for disabled people in Cyrpus as participants and spectators. The Football Project an organisation who harness the unique power of football to tackle issues in communities across Cyprus.

CAFE welcomes responses from differently disabled people from across Cyprus, which will help us in working towards a game that is accessible, inclusive, and welcoming to all.

The Cypriot Disabled Fans Survey consists of five sections and should take approximately 15 – 20 minutes to complete. An alternative Word document version of the survey is also available. We are hoping to have an easy-to-read version of the survey available to complete in March.

If you have any questions or need support in completing the survey, please email CAFE's Fan Liaison, Access and Administration Officer, Amy Wilson, or telephone on +44 (0)208 065 5108. If you are Cypriot speaking please contact Nikoletta Skarlatou from OPAK by email, or calling on +357 22496494, extension 6 between the hours of 08:15 and 14:00 local time

The survey will be open and available for completion until 18:00 CET on Friday 30 April 2021. A detailed report on the findings will be published later in the year.

CAFE, OPAK and the Football Project would like to thank you in advance for sharing your experiences and taking part in our Disabled Fans Survey.
