The Heart of Midlothian Disabled Supporters Club and the Belgian disabled supporters association RSCA Purple Wheels of RSC Anderlecht FC, agreed to twin at the end of March 2012.

Geert Thomas, the president of the RSCA Purple Wheels travelled to Edinburgh with Ruben Gregoor and a PA Peter Thijs.

“Our trip to Edinburgh started on Friday the 30th of March. We arrived in Edinburgh around 18.00 and Keith Ferguson, who is the Secretary of the Heart of Midlothian Disabled Supporters Club and the SDSA administrator Neil, were waiting to pick us up to drive us to our accessible hotel.

"On Saturday, Ruben, Peter and I decided to do some sightseeing. We went all the way up the Royal Mile (Canongate, High Street, Lawnmarket and Castlehill) in the Old Town. We passed by historical and amazing buildings like the Holyrood Palace, the Scottish Parliament and we even visited the Edinburgh Castle.

"In the afternoon, an accessible taxi took us to Tynecastle Stadium in order to see the match between Heart of Midlothian F.C. andAberdeen F.C.  We experienced a very nice atmosphere! The stadium was very accessible with an elevator going from the ground floor to reach the first floor where there was an accessible entrance with easy access to our wheelchair tribune seats. The tribune was situated on a higher level than the playing field, which gave us a good view. Also our P.A. Peter sat next to us during the whole game.

"We saw a very nice 3-0 victory over Aberdeen with two stunning goals coming from Rudi Skacel and one from Ryan McGowan. We really had an excellent time, at a splendid venue.

"In the evening, the Heart of Midlothian Disabled Supporters Club organized their Player of the Year Function event at a venue just outside Edinburgh and invited the three of us to come as their guests. We felt at home right away and the members made us feel very welcome.

"The highlight of the event was the honouring of the Heart of Midlothian F.C. player of the year Marian Kello and their best youth player David Templeton. Both players were very friendly.

"As the president of RSCA Purple Wheels, I had the privilege to receive A Highland Quaich from the HDSC. Traditionally the “Quaich” is  used both for a cup of welcome drink and also when offering a farewell drink. The RSCA Purple Wheels wishes to thank the Heart of Midlothian Disabled Supporters Club for their wonderful present.

“Later on that evening there was a raffle being held and we donated a RSC Anderlecht F.C. shirt to be used as a prize . Our outstanding evening ended with an unforgettable party.”

“Once again, we would like to thank the Heart of Midlothian Disabled Supporters Club for their hospitality, offering us a fantastic weekend and for arranging all transports and complimentary entry to the match.

"RSCA Purple Wheels will invite them to come to Anderlecht next season"
