Earth Hour - the world’s largest grassroots movement for the environment - takes place on Saturday 30 March at 8:30pm local time.

As part of the WWF's initiative, millions of people will turn off the lights for an hour as a symbol of support for a healthy planet.

UEFA is once again joining the movement and will be showing its support on social media in the run up to Earth Hour 2019. CAFE is also proud to add our voice to the growing support for the Earth Hour initiative.

This Earth Hour we aim to highlight our undeniable connection to Earth and nature: our planet's gain is everyone’s gain.

Healthy nature makes our lives better by providing us with good food, clean air, and fresh water - but it is all under the threat of climate change and loss of biodiversity. The Earth Hour movement raises awareness and inspires people to take action for our planet and nature.

Please join us in turning off our lights for one hour at 8:30pm your local time, and join the conversation to speak up about why nature matters using the hashtag #Connect2Earth.

A WWF statement said, "We are delighted that UEFA is engaging the football community and we’d love your help to make this Earth Hour the biggest yet".
