The Integrated Dreams Association has launched the second edition of the ‘Football For All’ Leadership Programme, aiming to promote employability and entrepreneurship of disabled people in the world of football.

More than one billion disabled people are alive today, making disabled people the largest minority group in the world. Still, disabled people have much higher unemployment rates than non-disabled people, with unemployment among disabled people in some countries as high as 80%.

Football is the preferred sport of 3.5 billion people, and so the Football For All Leadership programme has been developed to utilise football’s unique power in order to promote the wider inclusion of disabled people. The programme seeks to educate, develop and integrate the underrepresented global population of disabled people into the world of football leadership.

The programme is specifically designed to provide a premium education for differently disabled people who desire to work in football. It aims to help amplify their voices within the industry and so contribute to their representation and wider inclusion.

The second edition of the programme will take place from 20 October 2019 to 30 June 2020, with the programme divided into two parts. Part one will involve on-site classes held in Lisbon from 20 – 27 October 2019. The second part of the programme will take place from November 2019 – June 2020, with participants implementing a personal project with the support of a mentor and a local football organisation.

The programme has partnered with four prestigious academic institutions and six top football organisations, including CAFE, in order to achieve its three main objectives of employment, entrepreneurship and networking. More information on the programme can be found in the programme brochure, available to download here.
