Covid-19 health and safety measures

Supporters travelling to Italy to attend the 2021 UEFA Nations League Finals are requested to read the Italian Government website's current border entry requirements before starting their journeys.

All non-Italian residents are required to complete the Digital Passenger Location Form prior to entering Italy.

To enter the stadium, all spectators aged 12 and over must show one of the following pieces of documentation:

  • Completed full course of a Covid-19 vaccination with a vaccine registered in the EU dated more than 14 days before matches
  • Proof of previous Covid-19 infection
  • Proof of a negative molecular or antigen swab test taken within 48 hours of the kick-off of each match.

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, all persons attending UEFA Nations League matches in Milan shall be required to comply with health and safety measures in place during their time at the San Siro. The policies to be implemented include:

  • Maintain a social distance of at least 1m, wherever circulating public areas inside the stadium
  • Spectators must, at all times, wear a face mask covering their mouth and nose when within the stadium perimeter. UEFA recommends fans to take some spare masks with them
  • Spectators must ensure good hand hygiene by washing and disinfecting their hands whenever possible and make use of sanitiser stations located throughout the stadium
  • Spectators must not occupy any other seat (including wheelchair user space, easy access seat or companion seat) other than the seats allocated as per information on the match ticket
  • Queuing systems will be implemented to ensure social distancing at food stands, toilets, lifts and stairs.
  • Follow all further health and safety instructions given from stewards and matchday official staff

For the safety of everyone attending UEFA Nations League Finals, failure to comply with the health and safety measures in place at the stadium will not be permitted. It may lead to spectators being ejected from the stadium.

If spectators feel they have Covid-19 symptoms, please do not risk your own and fellow spectators' health by travelling to the stadium and attending the match.

Getting to Milan

Air: Milan Malpensa Airport

Milan Malpensa is approximately 50km from the city centre and around 47km from the stadium.

The airport is accessible for disabled passengers with accessible drop-off points outside the departure terminal. Lifts and accessible toilets are available throughout.

The airport requires disabled travellers to book any assistance needed when boarding and alighting flights via the travel agent or the airline you are travelling with no later than 48 hours in advance of your journey. Assistance at the airport can be requested at flight check-in counters or through the call points outside doors 12, 15 and 19 in departures and outside doors 4 and 7 in arrivals.

To reach the city centre, the Malpensa Express, a non-stop service from the airport to Centrale, Garibaldi and Cardorna depart from the airport terminal stations.

Two services per hour serve Cardorna station and two services per hour serve Centrale and Garibaldi stations.

Services to Cardorna station start at 05:56 until 00:26. Services to Centrale and Garibaldi operate from 05.43 until 22:43.

Sala Amica staff will assist disabled passengers to the station and help with boarding and alighting. It is requested you book this assistance in advance of journeys via emailing  [email protected] or by telephoning on +39 02 23 23 23.

Several bus services run from the airport to the city centre. The Malpensa Shuttle service to Milan Centrale station operates with wheelchair-accessible vehicles.

Services run every hour starting at 05:50 until 00:50, with journeys taking approximately one hour.

A single journey costs €10.00, with a return ticket costing €16.00.

Disabled travellers wishing to use the Malpensa Shuttle service are requested to pre-book assistance at least 48 hours in advance by completing the online booking form:

Air: Milan Linate Airport

Milan Linate is approximately 11km from the city centre and around 16km from the stadium.

The airport is accessible for disabled passengers with accessible drop-off points outside the departure terminal, lifts and accessible toilets are available throughout.

To reach the city centre, disabled travellers can take ATM Urban Line bus 73 to Duomo metro station.

Vehicles used on this route are accessible for disabled passengers.

Services operate from 05:30 to 01:06 with tickets cost €2.00 per journey. Tickets can be purchased from machines in the arrivals hall.

Train:

Milano Centrale is the main train station in Milan and is located approximately 8.5 kilometres from the San Siro Stadium.

The station is accessible for disabled passengers with accessible toilets and accessible ticket offices located throughout the stadium. Audio and visual announcements are also in place.

Further information on the services and facilities available at Milano Centrale can be found in Italian only on the Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI) website.

Assistance with boarding and alighting trains must be pre-booked by contacting the Sala Blu team based at the station via email at [email protected] or by calling +39 02 32 32 32 at least 24 hours in advance of journeys, 48 hours in advance, if your journey involves travel outside of Italy.

Getting to the stadium

Public transport:

The majority of buses and some trolley bus services operating in Milan are accessible for disabled passengers with low-level floors, retractable ramp for entry and space for one wheelchair user to board. Nearly all of the bus stops in the city allow for the safe use of the retractable ramp.

There is a good level of accessibility on the Milan metro system with escalators, lifts or platform lifts available at the majority of stations.

Accessible toilets are available at some metro stations in Milan. ATM have provided a comprehensive list of metro stations with accessible toilets.

Wheelchair users are requested to board at the designated carriage, nearest to the driver’s cab. Audio and visual “next-stop” announcements are provided on board all trains.

Accessibility on the tram network in Milan is varied. Tram lines 4, 7, 9, 14, 15 and 31 are served by low-level accessible vehicles. Tram lines 3, 24 and 27 are partly served by low-level accessible vehicles.

To reach the stadium from Milan Malpensa airport:

Disabled spectators should take Malpensa Express to Porta Garibaldi. From the train station, spectators should go to Porta Garibaldi metro station and take metro line 5 (purple line) in the direction of San Siro Stadio and alight here (10 stops) as this stop is the nearest stop to the accessible entrance.

From San Siro Stadio the stadium is approximately a six minute walk via Via Harar and Via dei Piccolomini.

Overall journey time is approximately 65 minutes.

To reach the stadium from Milan Linate airport:

Disabled spectators should take ATM Urban Line bus 73 to Duomo. From here, spectators should take metro line 3 (yellow line) in the direction of Comasina and alight at Zara (3 stops).

From Zara, then metro line 5 (purple) in the direction of San Siro Stadio and alight here (12 stops) as this is the nearest stop to the accessible entrance. From San Siro Stadio, the stadium is approximately a five minute walk via Via Harar and Via dei Piccolomini.

Overall journey time is approximately 75 minutes.

To reach the stadium from Milano Centrale:

Disabled supporters should head to Centrale Metro station and from here take either metro line 2 (green) in the direction of Abbiategrasso and alight at Garibaldi (2 stops).

From here, take metro line 5 (purple line) in the direction of San Siro Stadio and alight here (10 stops) as this stop is the nearest stop to the accessible entrance.

From San Siro Stadio the stadium is approximately a six minute walk via Via Harar and Via dei Piccolomini.

Overall journey time is approximately 25 minutes.

Accessible parking and drop-off/pick-up points

Accessible car parking is only available to disabled spectators with a valid matchday ticket and UEFA provided parking pass.

The accessible car parking areas are located at P7-C via Harar. From here, the stadium is easily reachable by designated and signposted walking routes.

Road closures are expected to come in to force around four hours prior to kick-off but pass holders will still be able to gain access to the parking as local stewards or police will help vehicles reach the area.

UEFA have advised there are two drop-off / pick-up points located at the stadium. These points are also taxi stands. One drop-off point / taxi stand is located on via Dessie in between metro stations San Siro Stadio and San Siro Ippodromo. From here the stadium is approximately a five minute walk.

The other drop-off / taxi stand is located close to Lotto Fieramilanocity metro station. From here the stadium is approximately a 20 minute walk away via Gavirate and via dei Rospigliosi.

Disabled supporters being dropped off at Lotto Fieramilanocity could also take metro line 5 (purple) in the direction of San Siro Stadio and alight here (3 stops) as this is the nearest stop to the accessible entrance. The overall journey time is approximately 5 minutes.

Entering the stadium

The accessible entrance points for all accessibility ticket holders is located at Gate 11.

Entrances will open at 17:45 (CET)

Only bags measuring up to a maximum of 210 mm x 297 mm x 210 mm can be brought into the stadium after security checks.

Security checks will be made at all entrances. Disabled spectators and their companions are advised to have their tickets and valid ID ready for inspection and follow security personnel's guidance.

Medical equipment will be allowed into the stadium. Disabled spectators are advised to bring medical proof of requirement (i.e. prescription, doctors note etc.) with them on matchdays should they be requested to show evidence of use by stadium staff.

There is a strict no smoking policy in place at both host venues for the 2021 UEFA Nations League Finals. Smoking, including the use of E-cigarettes and vapes, will be prohibited for all spectators once passed through the main ticketing gates.

Accessible seating

Wheelchair users and easy access ticket holders will be sat in blocks 155 to 165 in the orange tribune at the stadium. Adjacent companion seating is provided.

Accessible toilets

There are accessible toilets located close to accessible viewing areas and concessions.

Some accessible toilets are located inside of male and female toilet blocks, others are located in standalone cubicles.

Accessible toilets are indicated by signage using the internationally recognised symbol for accessibility, which is placed at an adequate height, so it is visible in crowded concourses. 

There are no ambulant disabled cubicles available at the stadium.

There are no Changing Places toilets available at the stadium.

Accessible Services and facilities

There are refreshment concessions located near to the accessible viewing areas. However, there are no low-level counters available or priority lanes available. 

Payment of refreshments and merchandise bought at the stadium is via cash or contactless bank or credit card.

Accessible first aid rooms are located close to accessible viewing areas.

Assistive listening devices (hearing loops) are not provided at the stadium.

Guide and assistance dogs are permitted into the stadium.

Audio-descriptive commentary (ADC)

An audio descriptive commentary (ADC) service will be provided at matches played in the San Siro.

This inclusive service will enable listeners to enjoy the commentary from any seat in the ground.

Italian audio-descriptive commentary will be provided in both matches at the San Siro, with Spanish commentary being provided at the first match at the stadium. English commentary will be provided at the final.

Disabled spectators are advised to bring their own personal radio or FM radio compatible mobile device.

(Please note: a number of smartphones, including iPhones and Google Pixel phones, may not currently be FM radio compatible).

Additional headsets will be available for any disabled spectators who wish to use the ADC service and may have forgotten to bring their headphones or device with them. Additional devices will be able to be collected from the ticketing information point at guichet 11.
