The CAFE team was deeply saddened to learn of the recent passing of Malachy Foots.

Malachy was a disabled football  fan who lived in Ireland, and was a strong supporter of CAFE’s works. Malachy was also a dedicated disability activist across Ireland, with his work being recognised by then-Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern in 2003.

CAFE Managing Director, Joyce Cook OBE, said “Malachy was a good friend to CAFE and he will be missed by disability campaigners and all who knew him. We will remember Malachy for his tireless work towards a more accessible and inclusive environment for disabled people in Ireland, and he leaves a lasting legacy. Our thoughts are with Malachy’s wife Tina and his family and friends at this sad time”.
