With over 80m disabled people living in Europe, accessible sports stadia are economically attractive, more sustainable and functionally more flexible.

The new ‘UEFA and CAFE Good Practice Guide to Creating an Accessible Stadium and Matchday Experience’ offers practical solutions to delivering high-quality venues that will ensure an inclusive and welcoming fan experience.

Established in 2009, CAFE is a European wide charity with a purpose to achieve equal access to football.

Using the special influence of football, CAFE aims to ensure that many more disabled people can enjoy a football match as an inclusive fan experience and  because football embraces diversity in all its forms, to raise disability awareness and the importance of good access more widely throughout the wider UEFA region.

And this November, at The Stadium Business Design & Development Summit 2012, Joyce Cook OBE, Managing Director, Centre for Access to Football in Europe (CAFE), will join the international speaking line up to outline the key features of the Good Practice Guide, and advise the stadium community on how best to design and deliver accessible and inclusive and welcoming stadium matchday experiences.

The Stadium Business Design & Development Summit is a unique event in Europe – aimed at all professionals involved in the design, construction, refurbishment and management of major sports venues.
