In November 2011, CAFE Western European Development Officer Keith Ferguson was invited to address the Federation of Hearts Supporters Clubs. This group looks after the interests of all Hearts supporters, and this also covers the Hearts Disabled Supporters Club.

Keith explained the work that CAFE have been carrying out and highlighted examples of disability abuse. He then asked for the support of the Federation in working together to stamp this out.

Keith also carried out a disability awareness and etiquette training exercise, which urged supporters to think before they speak and to not use words that could be offensive. The supporters present were then tested on which words are and are not acceptable, and passed with flying colours!

The Federation also added their voice to the CLUB CAFE network, adding further support to the cause. We thank the Federation for doing this.

A really successful day was the icing on the cake for Keith, quite literally, who also celebrated his birthday that day. From all the CAFE team, many happy returns Keith!
