As a result of the tragic situation in Ukraine and in light of the decisions made by UEFA and FIFA, CAFE has suspended our works in both Russia and Belarus.

CAFE is committed to utilising the power of sport to positively change the lives of disabled people, and we are mindful that this decision will impact many disabled fans in both countries. However we are left with no other option given the actions of the past week.

The 10th annual CAFE Week of Action, scheduled to take place between 12-20 March, will go ahead but will be postponed in Russia and Belarus.

CAFE has advised clubs and organisations in both countries who had planned to take part in the campaign, that their activities should either be postponed or should not take place under the CAFE Week of Action umbrella.

We had also been approached by a number of disabled fans groups in Ukraine who had planned to join the CAFE Week of Action. We will be liaising with them and hope that their activities can take place at a later date.

CAFE has been active in Ukraine since 2011, and enjoyed many great successes in empowering disabled people through the power of live sport. Our thoughts are with our friends and partners in the country at this time.

We have also enjoyed working in Russia and Belarus for many years. There have been significant access improvements made, and we have established close working relationships with many like-minded people, clubs and organisations.

It is our hope that a peaceful resolution is found soon, and we can continue to positively support many disabled people in both countries once again.

CAFE will be making no further comment at this time.
