FIFA and UEFA to present at CAFE International Conference - secure your place now!

Disabled fans at the 2018 FIFA World Cup

CAFE is hosting its third International Conference at San Mames, Bilbao, in November, and we can today announce that both FIFA and UEFA will be presenting at the event.

The CAFE International Conference is the largest event of its kind, bringing together key stakeholders from across all levels of the game to promote access and inclusion.

We are delighted to confirm that FIFA and UEFA – football’s most recognised authorities – will be present to provide updates around their major tournaments and events.

FIFA will speak about the implementation of an extensive accessibility programme at the 2018 FIFA World CupTM and its journey onward to more inclusive events.

CAFE is also pleased to announce that our founding partners UEFA will be presenting at the Conference.

UEFA’s support for CAFE and our works has been unwavering since our inception in 2009, and European football’s governing body has made a great commitment to ensuring access for all.

UEFA has included accessibility as an essential component of its tournament bidding processes, meaning that if a stadium wishes to host a major UEFA match or tournament it has to ensure disabled fans enjoy an inclusive and welcoming experience. We will hear more about how accessibility has been introduced into the bidding process and the impact it will have.

UEFA will also be looking ahead to UEFA EURO 2020, which for the first time will be held in twelve countries across the continent, and sharing information about its hugely popular #EqualGame initiative. The world’s biggest football stars are backing the campaign, and we will hear more about how you can get involved in #EqualGame too.

With almost 200 delegates confirmed, CAFE is still able to offer a limited number of delegate passes for the Conference, but we urge you to register soon to avoid disappointment.

The Conference is scheduled to begin at 0900 local time on 16 November, with a full day of interesting and engaging speakers from across Europe. The second day will also kick off at 0900, but is scheduled to close at around 1230 followed by an optional lunch.
