Match: Portugal v Northern Ireland

Published: 5/8/2013

Attended the Portugal v Northern Ireland WC qualifier at Porto's Dragao Stadium in Oct '12.  Very Impressive, modern stadium, a short taxi ride from the town centre, there is a metro station close by but wasnt sure about the wheelchair access from station to stadium.

Before the match we went for some food in the large shopping centre which is situated right across the road from the stadium.  Plenty of food options in the shopping centre and they even sold beer which was quite a novelty for us as none of our shopping centres in NI would sell alcohol.

Easy access across 1 road from the shopping centre to the stadium, the stadium seems to be sunk down in, so you actually enter the stadium at the upper level looking down onto  the pitch.

At the rear of the goal there were wheelchair accessible spaces plus seating for ambulant disabled fans, there were also accessible toilets and food kiosks close by.

After the match was over, it took us over an hour to get a taxi back into the town, so any fans going to a game at the Dragao should plan their return trip early.
