The CAFE team is joining with millions across the globe on Friday 20 September in demanding an end to the age of fossil fuels.

The Global Climate Strike is taking place three days ahead of the United Nations emergency Climate Action Summit, happening on 23 September at the UN Headquarters in New York.

Our hotter planet is already hurting millions of people. If we don’t act now to transition fairly and swiftly away from fossil fuels to 100% renewable energy for all, the injustice of the climate crisis will only get worse. 

We need to stop burning fossil fuels and ensure a rapid energy revolution with equity, reparations and climate justice at its heart.

CAFE Managing Director Joanna Deagle said, “On Friday, we will add our voice to the millions across the planet demanding that the climate emergency is finally taken seriously by governments and leaderships across the world”.

“At CAFE we are working to ensure a more accessible, inclusive and welcoming world for all, free from barriers preventing people from taking their rightful places within society. A worsening climate emergency negatively affects everyone on the planet, and disabled people are likely to be amongst the worst hit”.

“Global warming, rising sea levels and poor air quality will lead to an erosion of disabled peoples’ independence, and we, as a global population, must act now to protect the earth for generations to come”, added Joanna.

As such, the CAFE office will be closed on Friday, and will re-open on Monday 23 September.
