CAFE Media and Communications Manager Mike Rice travelled to Zagreb to discuss the Disability Access Officer role at the Croatian Football Federation's Annual Club Licensing Meeting.

The meeting brought together club representatives across Croatia's top two divisions, and advised them on club licensing procedures.

Mike spoke about the importance of the Disability Access Officer role in providing access and inclusion at football clubs and stadiums.

The Disability Access Officer role was added to UEFA Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play criterion in July 2015, and requires applicant clubs to appoint a Disability Access Officer to assist in improving stadium facilities and access for disabled supporters.

Speaking after the meeting, Mike said, "I would like to say a huge thank you to the Croatian Football Federation (HNS) for the opportunity to speak about the Disability Access Officer role. It has been great to discuss the benefits of appointing a Disability Access Officer with the Croatian clubs and promoting wider inclusion for disabled people".

The Disability Access Officer role can be found in Article 35bis of the UEFA Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play regulations, which states:

1) The licence applicant must have appointed a disability access officer to support the provision of inclusive, accessible facilities and services.

2) The disability access officer will regularly meet and collaborate with the relevant club personnel on all related matters.
