Ahead of the FIFA Confederations Cup semi-final between Chile and Portugal, CAFE participated in a tour of the Kazan Arena with members of the local media.

Managing Director Joanna Deagle and Eastern European Development Officer Esther Jones Russell spoke with the media representatives about the importance of access and inclusion, and showed some of the accessible facilities and services available inside the stadium.

The purpose of the tour was to raise awareness about the matchday experiences of disabled fans. Andrei Chugunov, a local disabled fan, also took part in the tour and discussed his experiences.

Kazan Arena hosted 4 games during the FIFA Confederations Cup, and will also host 6 matches during the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The stadium has dedicated spaces for wheelchair users and companions, as well as a number of easy access seats for ambulant disabled fans. A wheelchair loan service has also been in operation outside each FIFA Confederations Cup host venue, with over 160 disabled fans using these services during the group stages.
