A young disabled footballer has been selected to play for an under-14's Scotland Ladies team.

Nicole Hogg, aged 11, has been deaf since she was 4 years old and wears two hearing aids at all times.

She plays football for the Heart of Midlothian under-13's Ladies team, and her performances have caught the eye of the national selectors.

Nicole has also been selected to join the Scottish Football Association's 2020 Development Centre.

Nicole's mother, Emma, said "We are all so proud of Nicole. She sometimes finds it hard to pick up what is being said, especially in a busy environment".

She added, "I just feel that other [deaf and hard of hearing] children should see what can be achieved".

In addition to her football achievements, Nicole is East Lothian's javelin champion in her age category and has represented her county in disability athletics championships.

Congratulations Nicole!
