In December 2011, CAFE Western European Development Officer Keith Ferguson visited the Spartans Community Football Academy, at the Ainslie Park Stadium in Edinburgh.

Spartans FC are very keen to join the new Scottish Lowland feeder league, and are also hoping to be granted an Scottish FA licence in the near future.

Spartans are the first non-league club in Western Europe to make contact with CAFE with a view to ensuring they have the right accessible facilities, and they should be congratulated on their efforts. Their small new stadium already has adequate facilities in place, and we wish them well in their quest to move to the professional football leagues in Scotland.
