In celebration of the CAFE Week of Action 2021, Athletic Club showed their support for the campaign by lighting up the San Mamés in blue and displaying the Week of Action logo on the exterior big screen.

Long-standing supporters of the CAFE Week of Action, and hosts of the CAFE International Conference in 2018, Athletic Club have once again helped to raise awareness and celebrate #TotalAccess. On Saturday 13 March, the Spanish club lit up the famous San Mamés stadium in blue and displayed the CAFE logo on the exterior big screen.

This latest show of support from Athletic Club comes as they continue to work closely with Denon Athletic, the club's disabled supporters association (DSA), to improve the experience for disabled fans. Denon Athletic often use "La Campa de los Ingleses" within San Mamés as their base.

San Mamés is scheduled to host four matches during UEFA EURO 2020, which kicks off in Rome on 11 June 2021. All three of Spain's group stage matches, against Sweden, Poland and Slovakia, will be played at the stadium, as well as a Round of 16 match.

The club is also moving forward on plans to install escalators across the stadium that, once completed, will grant easy access to the third tier of the stadium's four stands.

CAFE Media and Communications Manager Michael Rice said, "It was magnificent to see the iconic San Mamés lit up in the CAFE colours during this season's CAFE Week of Action. We have enjoyed a hugely positive relationship with our friends in Bilbao, and we are so grateful for their continued support".

Despite ongoing restrictions around supporters attending live matches across much of Europe, the CAFE Week of Action 2021 was a great success with many fans, DSAs, Clubs and National Associations joining us to celebrate #TotalAccess.

The CAFE Week of Action ran from 6-14 March, and CAFE would like to thank each and every participant who helped to raise awareness of access and inclusion within sport. A full round-up and report will be published shortly.
