The CAFE team was deeply saddened to hear of the recent passing of Cyril Gallay, the UEFA Infrastructure Manager, at the age of 42.

Cyril was a friend and supporter of CAFE and our works, as well being a disabled person in a senior role within European football.

CAFE Managing Director Joyce Cook said, “I so enjoyed our discussions and Cyril's fierce determination not to be defined by his disability. In my view, Cyril helped the CAFE cause much more than he would ever admit and I'm not convinced he truly believed me when I told him so”.

Joyce added, “That’s the man we’ll remember – dignified, unassuming and a true trailblazer. Rest in peace Cyril and thank you”.

Cyril will be missed by so many, not least his wife Esther, his children Ilona, Eliot and Evan, and all of his friends and colleagues at UEFA.
