To celebrate International Day of Disabled People 2015, CAFE is delighted to report that a national disabled fans group has been established in Poland.

At a recent meeting in Warsaw, disabled fans groups from across Poland came together to create Federacja Kibiców Niepełnosprawnych (FKN). FKN connects Polish disabled supporters and will represent disabled fans of all clubs.

They will also work closely with the Polish FA on projects to improve the matchday experiences of disabled football fans.

FKN has named Michal Fitas as its President and elected a Board of Directors from a number of different Polish disabled supporters groups. Michal is also the Vice-President of KKN - Poland's biggest club-level disabled supporters group at Slask Wroclaw.

The group was formally created when disabled fans came together for Poland's recent match with Czech Republic in Wroclaw.

FKN has already set out a number of targets for next year, including organising a conference for Disability Access Officers in Poland. They also plan to sign a partnership declaration with the Polish FA, working together to improve access and inclusion in Polish football stadiums.

Michal Fitas said, "This is a big step for disabled football fans in Poland, and we will work to make Polish stadiums welcoming for all disabled fans".

CAFE is committed to supporting the creation of user-led pan-disability fans groups, which empower their members to influence decisions taken at their own clubs and stadiums.

National disabled groups can have even greater influence and represent disabled fans across their countries.
