As we reported earlier this month, CAFE met with disabled GKS Katowice fans to discuss creating a disabled supporters group at the club. Everything is progressing well, and they have set up their next meetings where they will formally create the group.

The disabled fans held their second meeting on 28^th October Their next meeting will take place on 2^nd December, ahead of the International Day of Disabled People the next day.

CAFE Project Coordinator in Poland Weronika Paszewska said, “I am delighted that this group of disabled GKS Katowice fans are continuing with regular meetings, and planning towards a very promising future. I hope that CAFE will have the pleasure of attending the founding meeting of the group”.

Creating a disabled supporters group enables disabled fans to speak out with one united voice. A disabled supporters group can help to greatly influence positive change at clubs and stadiums, as well as raising wider awareness of disabled fans and access requirements.

Weronika added, “We hope that many more disabled fans in Poland work together to create disabled supporters groups at their clubs. The ultimate aim is to work towards the creation of a national group to represent all disabled fans in Poland”.
