Croatian Football Federation introduces audio-descriptive commentary for national team matches

For the first time, the Croatian Football Federation (HNS) will enable partially sighted and blind supporters to follow the national team matches through live audio-descriptive commentary.

HNS is proud to welcome 15 partially sighted and blind supporters and their companions, alongside other disabled fans, to the Maksimir Stadium in Zagreb for the FIFA World Cup play-off match against Greece on 12 November.

In partnership with the Zagreb Association of Blind Persons, HNS is providing tickets, audio devices and two trained audio-descriptive commentators to describe all visual details from inside the stadium.

HNS also traditionally welcomes many other disabled fans as their matchday guests.

UEFA, HNS and CAFE strongly support the idea that everybody should be able to enjoy football, regardless of race, gender, age, religion or disability.

This season, UEFA has launched the new #EqualGame campaign with the objective of promoting inclusion, diversity and accessibility in Europe. This represents another step towards Total Football Total Access in Croatian football.

Improved inclusion for disabled people in the world of football is one of HNS' key objectives, with audio-descriptive commentary for partially sighted and blind fans being an important step in that direction.
