CAFE promotes the social model of disability approach, which suggests that disabled people only become disabled by the barriers placed in front of them by their environment and the people in it.

There are several forms of barriers that disabled people may face, including physical, sensory and attitudinal barriers. Each can be as obstructive as each other, and can prevent disabled people from taking their rightful places within the wider society.

CAFE has published a guidance note on some of the common access barriers that disabled people may encounter when attending a live match.

The document can be downloaded here.
