CAFE Project Coordinator in Poland, Weronika Paszewska, met with disabled GKS Katowice fans last week to discuss setting up a disabled supporters group at the club.

Weronika discussed CAFE’s works in Poland and how forming a disabled supporters group would help to empower disabled GKS Katowice fans.

A disabled supporters group with one united voice gives disabled fans a much greater opportunity to have their say and make positive changes at their club and stadium. It can also be beneficial to the club to have a strong disabled supporters group to work with on access and awareness issues.

Weronika said, “The meeting in Katowice was very promising, and I am excited about the disabled supporters group that will soon be set up at the club. The fans who attended the meeting are passionate and the Katowice disabled supporters group has a very bright future”.

CAFE will meet again with the group in the near future to look at the progress that has been made. We would like to congratulate all of the disabled Katowice fans who have made this possible and wish them every success for the future.
