As part CAFE’s commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and in particular Goal 13: Climate Action, we have pledged to offset unavoidable greenhouse gas emissions in relation to events and travel.

Working with fellow UEFA Football and Social Responsibility partner, South Pole, CAFE has been awarded two certifications, relating to emissions from our 2018 International CAFE Conference in Bilbao, and relating to emissions from unavoidable air travel in 2019/20.

Climate change is a threat faced by each and every one of us across the globe, but disabled people are amongst those to be hit the hardest by this crisis. Social and economic factors mean that disabled people are more likely to have limited access to knowledge, resources, and services to effectively respond to environmental change, as well as potentially being more vulnerable to extreme climate events.

CAFE understands that there is a long journey ahead of us and is committed to playing our part in creating a sustainable and greener environment for everyone.

CAFE Managing Director Joanna Deagle said, “We all have an important role to play in securing the future of our planet. We are committed to working to protect the planet against the threat of climate change, and using these current challenging times as an opportunity to come back better in an inclusive, accessible and sustainable world”.
