The end of the year 2011 was marked by a significant event for all Polish disabled fans, especially those who support Sląsk Wrocław and Wisła Kraków. Their last game of the year gathered 230 disabled supporters at Wroclaw City Stadium, which is a record number for Poland.

The 28^th of November, 2011 was an awesome night. Wroclaw broke all barriers. This story is ideal proof of why our city is one of hosts of UEFA EURO 2012.

Slask Wrocław played against Wisła Kraków. The home team was defeated 1-0, but that’s not the most important thing. 43 thousand supporters at the Wroclaw City Stadium experienced amazing entertainment. Here is another fantastic number – 230 disabled fans with their PA’s. Slask Wrocław’s supporters have a good friendship with their Wisła Kraków counterparts, that`s why the atmosphere was fabulous.

“We had guests from Kraków, including 30 disabled Wisła fans. This included deaf people, wheelchair users and also learning disabled. We had fantastic time together – enjoyed dinner, saw the match and then had a party and networking event” – said Paweł Parus, general director of Disabled Supporters Association.

At the new Wroclaw stadium there are 104 seats for wheelchair users and their companions, 80 parking places on the same ground level, accessible toilets and special catering places for disabled supporters.  

We hope that on every next match in 2012 we will see many disabled supporters and it will be a perfect way to integrate disabled people to the society.
