Anna Pavlova

Jogo: Zenit v Akhmat Gorzny

Publicado: 1/1/1970

We travelled by car from Moscow for the game and we did not know when we got our match tickets that we also needed to get a pass in advance to be able to park at the Krestovkiy Stadium, luckily some kind people did tell us before we departed and it was possible to get the pass otherwise we would not have been able to park at the stadium. For future games we now know that we need to inform the VOI of the details of the car we will be arriving in when applying for tickets and they will inform Zenit to grant a pass.

We could not find any signage to the lifts at the stadium, but a volunteer was available and they accompanied us. We were unable to get to the concourse and stadium staff did not let us go any further than the spaces that were reserved for disabled people. The spaces for disabled people are limited but there is a round balcony area which allows wheelchairs to move around this area.

It was not possible to buy anything as the food area was on a different level to the area reserved for disabled people and there was only steps leading to this area so it was impossible to get to it. If there was a lift, nobody showed it to us.

Volunteers showed us where to find the toilets, but we did have to find a member of staff to open the door when we needed to use them.

We did not have a good view of the pitch as all the seats are in one place with glass separating the other them from other fans. When the other fans stood up, we could not see anything, stewards tried to make the fans sit down, but unfortunately not everyone did.

It is difficult to get tickets because they are only available through VOI and are limited to 30. If you are from St Petersburg then you know who and when to phone but we are not from this city so only found out at the last minute that tickets are not available from the stadium. I would also like to say that we travelled to the game as a family (mum, dad and our son) and we would have liked to have watched the match as a family, but this was not possible as my husband was made to go to another area. Wheelchair users should be able to move area the entire stadium and not be put in to a separate section.
