Disabled fans at Dinamo Zagreb

Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb recently hosted a CAFE Week of Action celebration, inviting a group of learning disabled fans and their companions to watch a match from the VIP Presidential Box.

The CAFE Week of Action is an annual celebration of access and inclusion for all disabled people across football. Now in its sixth year, the initiative continues to grow across Europe and promotes the message of Total Football Total Access.

Working in partnership with CAFE and the Centre for Rehabilitation Zagreb, Dinamo welcomed 25 learning disabled fans to the game, and created memories that will last a lifetime.

Unfortunately, the full time result was not a positive one as Dinamo were beaten 4-1 by Lokomotiva but still remain top of the table.

One of the guests, Zoran, said, " It was great! We are really happy and we enjoyed. Unfortunately Dinamo did not win, but there are still a lot of games this season".

At full time, two of the club's high profile players came to the VIP Presidential Box to meet with the disabled fans.

Algeria international and reigning Prva HNL Player of the Year, Hilal Soudani, and Swiss international Mario Gavranović spent time with the fans and their companions, talking about their love for the club.

Gavranović said, "We are really happy to be here. I have to say that our disabled fans surprised us with a warm welcome. I would like to thank them because of that. I think all other clubs should take care about their disabled supporters and there should be as many as possible this kind of events for them".

"We should help them to integrate into the football and into the community in general. Every little step is important. They made Soudani and me feel happy too", added Gavranović.

CAFE is delighted to work with Dinamo Zagreb, and we thank the club for joining us in celebrating Total Football Total Access!
