Linfield Supporters at Wembley Champions League Final
On 28th May we flew from Belfast International Airport to London Luton Airport for the Champions League Final at Wembley Stadium.
When we arrived at Luton we transferred by taxi to our hotel and then on to Luton Parkway Train Station, which we found to be accessible. We boarded a train here that took us to Kings Cross Station. From here, we transferred to the london underground Metropolitan line for the tube to Wembley Park Station. Both Kings Cross and Wembley Park were accesible via lifts.
When we arrived at the stadium, access was via a double door which opened on approach. This made it very accessible for all types of wheelchairs! Our seats were in the Barcelona section, Entrance H, BlocK 138, which was in the lower tier of the stadium and had great views. Being a die hard Man UTD fan it was a bit awkward but I also support Barca and have been lucky enough to watch them play at the Nou Camp. The actual seating area had adequate space for wheelchairs and carers. There were also lifts and individual disabled toilets at various locations throughout the stadium which were attended by stewards. All the stewards and staff at the stadium were very helpful and attentive! The match had a great atmosphere, some awesome goals and it was an amazing experience, with Barca winning 3-1.
On exiting the stadium, we made our way back to Wembley Park Station. The journey was made easier as there was a ramp for easy access into the station without having to fight through the crowds! We boarded an express train which took us straight to Kings Cross were we transferred to the Luton train. I have enclosed some pictures of the match. hope you liked this blog.
