Fans from Slask Wroclaw Disabled Supporters Club

It's not magic, Śląsk Wrocław will be part of Europa Cup!!! We had to wait 24 years before the words of the popular supporters' song became reality. Even longer, as long as 29 years we waited to witness our team Śląsk Wrocław finishing Ekstraklasa in top three. We are witnesses of the events that will be part of a history of our club. I am very happy that such a large number of disabled supporters could see the final game with Arka Gdynia. All the more as it was „first” goodbye to Oporowska (Old Slask Wroclaw Stadium). First – as there is one more cup round that club from Wrocław will need to play on an old stadium. A new one will not be ready as yet by then.

When we travelled to Cracow for out first away game in 2010/2011 season on October 1st, Śląsk was second to last in the Ekstraklasa table. Orest Lenczyk was appointed club couch just before encounter with Wisła Krakow. He proved to be a miracle maker. A draw in Cracow was a start to extraordinary away series. Since that game Śląsk had not lost any away game until the game with Górnik Zabrze in May.

During the season that has just finished, The Club of Disabled Supporters had travelled 3.340km altogether (Cracov 300x2, Bytom 200x2, Bełchatów 200x2, Warsaw 350x2, Poznań 200x2, Warszawa 350x2, Lubin 70x2). It is hard to believe, but from every game we came back with points. We visited new stadiums, but we could find our way and – what is important – have fun also on the old ones. We have made contacts, met new interesting people. It truly was a magical time.

While waiting for the new season and move to the new stadium, our attention is focused on Europa Cup draws that will take place on June 20th. It will be then, when we see whether the fortune is kind to us. And I do not mean the class of the rival, but the distance. Let's be realistic – we won’t be able to travel to Kazakhstan or North Pole. Our dream is to have a rival from Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria or Hungary. Those would be great away games...

You are warmly invited to see the pictures from the game that decided the second place as well as from the accompanying events.
