The International Disability Alliance (IDA) has just launched paid and unpaid internship programs to give people with disabilities and family members the opportunity to work with the IDA Secretariat in Geneva in the area of the Human Rights Council. Preference will be given to people from poorer regions and staff or volunteer leaders can also apply.
Paid internship: Applicants need a recommendation letter from an IDA member. The insternship can last between 3 and 6 months and the deadline to receive requests to this first call is May 30th. There will be a maximum of two interns at a time.
Unpaid internships to work with the IDA Secretariat in Geneva. People can apply on the field of Human Rights or Treaty Bodies. This call will be open permanently.The length and timing of the internship will depend on the calendar of UN meetings.
IDA promotes the effective and full implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities worldwide, as well as compliance with the CRPD within the UN system, through the active and coordinated involvement of representative organisations of persons with disabilities at national, regional and international levels.
