On April 7th, 2011 in Kiev, Ukraine, Football Supporters Europe (FSE) and the State Department of Youth and Sports of Ukraine announced the official launch of Fans’ Embassies project in Ukraine.
This announcement was made by the First Deputy Head of the State Department of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Sergey Gluschenko at the press conference that took place in the press centre ‘Ukraine-2012’. During his speech he stated that Centre for Access to Football in Europe (CAFE) is their partner for access and inclusion issues and emphasized the importance of good access for disabled fans. CAFE will be actively involved into this project to make sure that disabled fans’ rights are taken into account and good access is provided at all stationary fans’ embassies in all host cities. Among information materials for fans coming to the tournament, there will be special access guide to provide disabled fans with information on good and bad access.
The next step of Fans’ Embassies project is recruitment of volunteers for stationary embassies. FSE and CAFE encourage disabled people to be part of it. Please send your requests to email info@cafefootball.eu.
