Monday 25th October there was a warm welcome in the Highlands after making the long journey to Inverness to discuss setting up a new group there....
The club itself are very supportive and allowed the meeting to go ahead at the stadium. Below you will see a number of the attendees before the meeting got underway (apologies to those who are missing from the picture!)

There was a large attendance with the following groups and local organisations represented:
Highland Disability Sport
Inverness Caledonian Thistle Trust
Key Housing Association Ltd
L'Arche Inverness
Leonard Cheshire Services
Nansen Highland
The Highland Council
Supporters - who are disabled and are personal assistants.
I gave the group information on CAFE , its aims, goals and objectives and an update on what else has been happening in Scotland with regard to setting up disabled supporters associations. It was agreed to form an ICT DSA with the structure formalised and agreed over the next couple of weeks.
5 people volunteered as committee members and the next step is too add to this number people who are known to be interested however could not unfortunately be at this meeting. Election of office bearers will then take place at a meeting hosted by the Inverness Caledonian Thistle Trust on Tuesday 9th November 2010.
Well worth the long journey to see this materialise and a personal thanks to my son Sean for driving me there and back due to my car being off the road.
"I thought it a very successful meeting and feel sure we will have a group set up in the near future."
Hamish Wood ICT Trust
"I attended the meeting as a parent and also as a Carer. I hope the Inverness group is successful. It was well-supported at the initial meeting."
Carol-Anne Black
"I came along as a parent but also as part of an organisation where I work as we have a few people who all have learning disabilities. Was a good meeting."

ICT Supporters Trust had another meeting 10th November with interested parties, with a view to forming a Disabled Association. All were keen to be involved in some way. They have arranged to meet on the 25th Nov to arrange office bearers and discuss the way forward. I will be going along to offer any assistance needed and will get back to you to update you on their progress.
