Stewarding At Its Best

17 September 2010

Tuesday 7th September I had a rush due to car problems to make it to Hampden Park for a Scotland Euro qualifying tie. After I left the disabled car park area I made into the stadium with time to spare. However just after the kick off time I was approached by a steward and advised that I had left my driver's side window wide open and my satnav left on leaving my car very vulnerable to theft. I managed to get back to the car, lock it up,back to my seat and not miss a goal (not that there were many!). However the stewards involved should be congratulated on the way they went about dealing with this.

When they discovered the problem they decided not to put out a stadium announcement and hope for the best. Instead they had a look at the photograph on my blue badge. They knew which area I would be in so one steward searched for me by talking to other stewards etc.. He then walked with me all the way to the car and back to make sure I was ok. When I got to my car I found they had positioned a steward at the open window to guard the car and my possesssions until I could be found and lock the car up which I thought was service at its best! These guys deserve a big thank you for going that extra yard to make sure my car was safe.
