Blind Tribune in Belgium - Germany

Published on 3 September 2010

During the European Championship qualification match Belgium - Germany, Friday at the King Baudouin Stadium, opens URBSFA a blind gallery. It is the first time that this happens during a game the Red Devils.

The blind and partially sighted, twenty in total, will be able to follow the match on the basis of an auditory description (audio description) and that in both languages.

Through headphones  they are directly connected to specially trained reporters who live comment and visually describe what is happening on the field and in the stadium.

The tribune is an initiative of blind Intro vzw asbl and Plain-Pied in consultation with the Belgian Football Association. Intro vzw introduced before the blind stand in Belgium and is now making home games for Anderlecht and Club Brugge in this way accessible. Plain-Pied asbl offers this service at the home stadium of Standard.
